Wow and let there be Windows!

“A house without books is like a room without windows.”
Horace Mann

Our windows have arrived and are installed, a shout out to the amazing work by Timberware, the craftsmanship and quality is exceptional http://www.timberware.com.au/. They are all custom and beautiful, and I adore every window. We decided on double hung windows as we both grew up in bungalows and love the idea giving a "nod" to our childhood, not to mention I adore the character that comes with them. Since they have been installed I am now starting to thinking about how to dress them. Plantation shutters, roman blinds and beautiful sheer curtains.

I have been inspired by Gav and Waz's Byron Bay renovation, the design boys have just nailed it. I love looking for inspiration and there are so many wonderful projects out there. For some eye candy check out..

Our cladding starts today and all the doors are delivered tomorrow.
I take a step back each time I do an afternoon inspection, as it now starts to feel like a home.

I just keep pinching myself.

  1. Hi, thanks for popping in. I discovered your blog a few weeks back, but I forgot to comment. Yes - looks like we are on similar timelines - are you expecting a pre XMAS completion date? I would like to think our house will be ready to move in by then, but it's probably unlikely (despite my best efforts of pushing things along.) I had some concerns about using marble as a benchtop material, but I love it so much I'm taking the risk - I'm off to choose the slabs for the kitchen and laundry next week. It's the only thing left to select. I'll be watching your progress over the coming months. xx

    1. Thanks Caroline, likewise will be watching your WE project too.... it looks like we have a similar timeline. We originally had a date of 17th December for handover but alas I think it will now be early Feb. Oh Well.
I love marble, just couldn't win over my husband who is Mr Practical.
Will drop into your blog to watch your progress.

  2. Your place is rocketing along! Love your double hunts, our last house had them, Besty had a complete mishmash of windows but not a double hung in sight unfortunately. Love the triple gable at the front of your house, it has so much character. mel x

    1. Thanks Mel. How are you coming along? I still haven't got over to the Valley for lighting.... on another "to do" list. Hope all is going well.

  5. Good to hear you're extremely pleased with the service! Windows, like eyes, contribute a lot to the overall appeal. Better have them beautiful and properly positioned.

  6. Great for you to be busy with orders. You must have a good quality of custom blinds cause it's highly demanded. I'll be checking out your designs as I browse around your blog.

  7. Wow, I can tell your house is great, and it isn't even finished yet! I love its form. I bet it will look much better when it's done.
